The road to Berlin now includes four qualifier spots, $100,000 for each non-partner team that qualifies, and separate playoff paths for Europe, Türkiye and MENA.

The roster-retention rule is the part that jumps out to me most. Keeping at least three of the five players from the qualifier roster means you can't just cheese your way through opens with a stacked trial team and then swap everyone out for playoffs. That's probably good for competitive integrity, but it also makes the open phase feel even more important because one bad roster call can kill the whole run.

yeah, that part feels aimed straight at stop-start superteams. if a team only needs to keep three players, though, I wonder how many orgless stacks will basically scout around that limit all season and still stay legal

The regional split makes sense on paper, but Europe getting two spots while Türkiye and MENA get one each is still going to annoy a lot of people. Riot is clearly valuing depth in Europe, yet the format also says the other regions have to do a lot more work for the same payoff. I think that is why the $100,000 carrot matters so much – it softens the blow if you are a non-partner team and don't make Berlin.
