T1’s Valorant roster is down to three confirmed players after the departures of Meteor, Munchkin, DH, head coach KDG and assistant coach CheongGak.

Losing Meteor, Munchkin and both coaches in one go is rough, but the part that stands out to me is how much of T1's 2026 identity was built around role shifts. That usually means the offseason is going to be about structure first and signings second.

@718 that's what worries me too. If the new coach also wants to move stax off IGL, then they are not just replacing people, they are rebuilding the way the team thinks in mid-round.

the scary bit is they still need someone to replace the coaching brain as well as the firepower. roster moves are one thing, but without a clear system the good pieces just look average.

I agree the calling matters, but I would not be shocked if they keep stax on the mic and let BuZz stay locked into Duelist. That gives them a cleaner baseline than trying to reinvent three roles at once, and iZu can keep being the flexible slot while they test new pieces.

The article mentioning CheongGak's earlier history with the roster is a big clue here. T1 keep circling back to familiar staff because they value continuity, so I expect them to search for someone who can slot into an existing framework rather than tear it up completely.

That seems most sensible. stax calling, BuZz entrying, iZu flexing – not glamorous, but it gives the next coach something usable instead of a blank page.
