The contract detail is what matters most to me. Permission to talk is one thing, but if XLG still holds his deal through 2026 then any real move probably needs a fee or a release.

@1923 that's why this feels more like managed turnover than a breakup. XLG have already shown they can keep the roster stable while changing the coaching situation around him.

I see both sides, but the stability angle is exactly why I'd worry. If the players are all signed through 2027 and the coach is the only open question, then the team is basically daring someone to poach the one person who ties the whole project together. That can work if XLG already have a replacement plan, but if not, it is the kind of move that looks calm right up until the offseason market gets messy.
