the real question is whether the two guest teams are temporary invitees or basically probation slots. if riot wants flexibility, that could mean some weird mid-cycle swaps if a team flames out.

@WashedPing i read it more like a bridge between partnered and qualifier teams, not a free pass. if they treat it like promotion/relegation lite, the format makes a lot more sense.

The part people are missing is how much this changes roster planning. With a two-year cycle, orgs can take a swing on newer lineups instead of forcing the same core to survive three or four seasons just to keep their badge. That should help China more than a rigid 10-team lock ever did, especially when teams like Xi Lai and JD have already shown they can peak and qualify on merit.

fair, but if guest teams are not clearly explained then the whole thing is just admin fog. Riot really loves dropping half a format and expecting everyone to decode it on VLR comments.
