Respawn Entertainment has launched a Godzilla crossover in Apex Legends that turns Storm Point into an attack zone, puts a custom Devotion up for grabs, and folds the whole event around Godzilla’s rampage across the map.
The studio says the Apex Legends | Godzilla Event runs from November 10 to December 1. Its announcement also says the event goes live Tuesday, October 10, and ties the crossover to the theatrical release of Godzilla Minus Zero, which it says hits theaters this week. Respawn also links the event to Godzilla’s arrival in the Outlands, with the monster making Storm Point its stomping ground.
Storm Point is caught in Godzilla’s path
Respawn says Storm Point is “in the midst of a Godzilla attack,” with damaged buildings, burnt trees, fallen signs and other destruction spread across the map while Godzilla looms overhead. Players are told they cannot defeat it, only survive it, which shifts the event from a standard firefight into a race through a map that is already being torn apart.
The basic setup gives squads two ways to approach the match. They can fight rivals in the wreckage left behind by the monster, or they can try to move through the battlefield in time to benefit from Godzilla’s attacks. Respawn says that if players venture into a blast zone before Godzilla’s Heat Ray strikes, they can find the Care Package and claim a custom Devotion weapon with a heat-ray attack that tracks enemies on hit.
That Devotion is the central gameplay reward in the event announcement. Respawn’s language makes clear that the weapon is not just a cosmetic variant: it is meant to be a piece of Godzilla’s power that players can seize during the match, then use against the rest of the lobby.
The developer also frames the crossover around the monster’s long-running identity. Godzilla has been a global icon since its 1954 debut, and Respawn points to the franchise’s latest film, Godzilla Minus One from 2023, as part of that continued appeal. The announcement says Godzilla Minus Zero will get a wide theatrical release across North America beginning Friday, November 6, 2026.
Event Pass rewards and cosmetic drops
Respawn is pairing the map event with a new Godzilla Event Pass. Players can complete challenges to earn rewards including the Jet Jaguar Octane Skin and Godzilla Event Packs. The Premium Track costs 950 AC and includes the Iconic Ghidorah 1991 Catalyst Skin, the Legendary Gravity Beam Prowler Skin, Epic Apex Packs and more.
The event also introduces the Dorsal Dagger, which Respawn says is inspired by Godzilla’s dorsal fins. It can appear as a possible drop in Apex Legends | Godzilla Event Packs, and unlocking it also unlocks the matching Death Box. That gives the crossover a second featured collectible beyond the Devotion variant, with the dagger designed as another direct reference to the monster itself.
Respawn says the event includes 10 new Legend Skins that draw from the Godzilla series, “including some deep cuts.” It also adds nine new Godzilla-themed legendary weapon skins for the Devotion, Hemlock, Rampage, CAR, Havoc, Longbow, Wingman, Prowler and Sentinel. Those skins spread the crossover across several weapon classes rather than concentrating it on a single loadout.
The announcement does not list every skin by name, but it does make the cosmetic focus clear: the event leans heavily on Godzilla imagery, from the monster’s dorsal fins to the event pass rewards and the new weapon lineup. Respawn also says the crossover is part of a broader celebration of the franchise’s newest film release.
Twitch Drops run alongside the event
Respawn is also turning on Twitch Drops from November 10 through November 17 with select creators. Players who watch 30 minutes can earn the Chibi Charmzilla Weapon Charm, while 60 minutes unlocks the Mothra’s Milestones Tracker Set. The studio says an EA account must be linked to Twitch to qualify.
Respawn adds that rewards are based on the time players watch or play, and that in-game delivery should appear within 24 hours the next time they log on. The company also includes a link for account linking guidance in the announcement.
The event is one of several recent Apex Legends updates focused on limited-time systems and rotating rewards. Respawn says the new content is designed to sit on top of the existing Storm Point map rather than replace it, with Godzilla’s presence changing the route squads take and the risks they accept while the match is underway.
Respawn also reminds players that Apex Legends is free to play on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through the EA app, Epic Games Store and Steam. The studio says the announcement may change as it listens to community feedback and continues developing the live service, but the current plan centers on a Godzilla attack, a Heat Ray-powered Devotion, and a bundle of event-specific skins and drops.
