Barça eSports has completed its 2027 Valorant roster by signing Mohammad “Pa1ze” Khatib, Ondřej “MONSTEERR” Petrů, Yusuf “Proxh” Emre Tunc and Semyon “purp0” Borchev, according to VLR.gg. The four additions fill out a lineup built around Fit1nho after Barça did not get picked as one of the eight partnered orgs for 2027.
VLR.gg says the new group gives Barça four players who have all played against VCT competition this year. It also leaves Fit1nho as the only player staying from the previous roster, with the site projecting him to handle Initiator duties while purp0 and Pa1ze likely share the Duelist load and Proxh plus MONSTEERR cover Controller and Sentinel.
Fit1nho stays as Barça resets around him
Fit1nho has just finished his second year with the team and is the lone holdover through the offseason. Barça’s rebuild comes after the org was left out of the 2027 partner group and was also not invited to the main stage of Europe’s EMEA Qualifier, which leaves it on an Open Qualifier path.
That is a sharp turn for a team that has already found success in Valorant since entering the game in 2024. Barça has been crowned champion of the Spanish circuit twice and reached EMEA Ascension once in 2024. The 2027 setup asks it to rebuild without the security of partner status and without the direct route it had hoped for in Europe’s qualifier structure.
Fit1nho’s return gives Barça at least one familiar piece as it starts over. VLR.gg expects him to anchor the Initiator slot, which would put one established player in the middle of a roster made up mostly of recent signings with different team histories and role backgrounds.
Pa1ze comes in after Joblife and a short FOKUS stop
Pa1ze joins after finishing the 2026 season with Joblife. Before that, he joined FOKUS on short notice after ending the season there, and VLR.gg says that move came after chiwa experienced visa issues during the team’s run in the EMEA Stage 2 Play-Ins.
Since making his debut in 202X, the Dane has played for Gamax Lite / Gamax Esports, Diamant Esports and EnRo Griffins. VLR.gg describes him as a player who has mostly worked as a Sentinel and secondary Controller, although he also filled in at secondary Duelist at times this year. That mix gives Barça another flexible piece for a roster that is still being defined by role overlap as much as by names.
His recent stops also show how much ground he covered in 2026. Joblife finished the year ranked 11th in Europe, while FOKUS sat 14th. Barça is banking on that run of experience against regional opposition translating into a stronger finish under its own banner.
MONSTEERR, Proxh and purp0 add more VCT exposure
MONSTEERR’s last stop was Eintracht Frankfurt, where he helped the team win the EMEA LCQ and earn a place in the Play-Ins. VLR.gg says Eintracht Frankfurt then finished 7th-8th in that stage. Over the course of his career, the Czech player has also suited up for Enterprise Esports, Team Heretics, Giants Gaming, Acend and KOI.
His role profile has been just as adaptable. VLR.gg says MONSTEERR has been a Sentinel secondary Controller for most of his career, while also playing secondary Duelist at times this year. That makes him a useful fit for a roster that appears to be leaning on players who can cover more than one lane if needed.
Proxh arrives after finishing his second stint with Gentle Mates. VLR.gg says he started the year with Enterprise and has also competed for Eintracht Frankfurt in the past. The lifetime Controller player gives Barça a steady anchor for the middle of the map, and his background suggests the club wants at least one specialist at each of the main core roles.
purp0 joins after his exit from Team Liquid, where he was benched for a rookie player just before Champions Shanghai. Since debuting in 2020, he has played for GMT Esports and XPLDZ early on, then moved through FOKUS, KPI Gaming, GIANTX and Joblife since the start of the partnership era in 2023. He has mostly been a Duelist, but he has also flexed into Initiator.
“adding four players who have played against VCT competition this year”
That is the clearest way to describe Barça’s approach. The club is not filling the roster with untested prospects; it is bringing in four players who have already spent the year around top-level European opposition, even if they arrived there through different teams and different parts of the bracket.
Barça’s 2027 roster is set, but the route back is harder
The full Barça eSports lineup now consists of Fit1nho, Pa1ze, MONSTEERR, Proxh and purp0, with Juan “meisoN” Carlos Chacón listed as head coach. It is a complete reset from the squad the org used in 2026 and a clear sign that Barça is building around recent experience rather than continuity.
The structure also lines up with the roles VLR.gg expects: Fit1nho in Initiator, Pa1ze and purp0 sharing Duelist duties, Proxh on Controller and MONSTEERR on Sentinel. That setup gives Barça flexibility, but it also asks the five players to settle quickly into a team that has little overlap from the previous year.
The road ahead is more demanding than the one Barça had before. After missing out on partner selection for 2027 and not receiving a place on the main stage of Europe’s EMEA Qualifier, the org now has to fight its way forward through Open Qualifiers. It still has the record of winning the Spanish circuit twice and reaching EMEA Ascension once since entering Valorant in 2024, but the new roster will have to earn its own place in the region.
For Barça, this signing wave is as much about keeping pace with the level around it as it is about changing the lineup. The club has brought in players with recent runs for Joblife, Eintracht Frankfurt, Gentle Mates, Team Liquid and FOKUS, and each arrives with some history against stronger opposition. How that translates once the qualifier grind begins will decide how far this roster can go.
Barça going full VCT-experience shopping spree feels smarter than gambling on raw tier-2 aim. If you’re stuck in Open Qualifiers, you need players who’ve already been in those scrappy EU games.
nah, chemistry wins more
Chemistry with what, a deadline?
Because five decent players who know each other beat five names on paper. Newbies with “VCT experience” can still misread every mid round and lose the save.
sure, but they didn’t buy rookies
purp0 from Liquid to Open Qualifiers is a brutal downgrade on paper lol. Barça really said no partner spot? fine, we build a mini EU soup instead.
I do not think it is that simple. He was benched before Shanghai, so this may be a chance to play again rather than a downgrade.
Fit1nho as the only holdover is wild
proxh on controller makes sense
Controller is the easy part
yeah but not everyone can just slot in and do the boring work. if he anchors well, the duelist chaos can actually breathe instead of everyone dry peeking for clips.
Not getting the EMEA main stage invite hurts more than the roster change. Open Qualifiers is just extra grind for no reason, and now they need to gel at the same time.
