Blizzard’s latest World of Warcraft Weekly update, published on October 23, pulls together a crowded run of news for Azeroth: World of Warcraft: Forever, the live Gods of Zul’Aman update in Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary, Hallow’s End rewards, a new Midnight motion comic, and discount offers running through November 2.

The roundup also points to a special WoW: Forever podcast episode and lays out several early details for the project’s next stretch, including name reservations, rulesets, dungeons, and raids. Blizzard uses the post to connect those pieces into one weekly update rather than splitting them across separate announcements.

Forever name reservations open October 27

Blizzard says early name reservations for World of Warcraft: Forever will run from October 27 through November 3. In North America, the reservation window opens on October 27 at 1:00 p.m. PDT. The studio says the system gives players a chance to secure the names that will become part of their adventures in Azeroth before the mode opens up further.

The update also spells out how Blizzard is changing the way players enter the mode. Instead of the traditional realm-selection screen, the game will use rulesets. Blizzard says the goal is to let players choose the kind of experience they want first, while still preserving the sense of a living, active Azeroth.

Each ruleset is described as a broader player ecosystem rather than a single traditional realm. Blizzard says that approach should make it easier to find other players who share a preferred playstyle while keeping the world feeling populated. The studio frames the change as a structural shift in how Forever begins, not just a menu adjustment.

Camping, dungeons, and the shape of Forever

Blizzard’s weekly note also returns to the Camping system. The studio says it gives the Cooking Fire more purpose by turning it into a place where players can rest, prepare, and connect. The update frames that idea around the ordinary moments of travel in Azeroth, such as meeting another adventurer on the road, chasing the same objective, or taking the long route through a dangerous zone.

The company says World of Warcraft: Forever will include nine new five-player dungeons for characters from level 13 through level 60. Blizzard says the dungeons are rooted in the original World of Warcraft and will bring new threats, quests, and adventures to the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. Players will venture beneath familiar cities, beyond sealed gates, and into areas of Azeroth that have remained unexplored.

Blizzard is also continuing the rollout of endgame content for the mode. On December 9, level 60 players will be able to enter three raids: Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit, and Onyxia’s Lair. The studio says those raids will test preparation, teamwork, and class mastery.

The roundup says Blizzard will provide more detail on where to find each raid, how many players each one requires, and how to earn the Drakefire Amulet needed to enter Onyxia’s Lair. The date and raid lineup are confirmed here; the rest of the attunement and location information is still to come.

Gods of Zul’Aman goes live in Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary

Blizzard says the Gods of Zul’Aman content update is now live in Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary. The Amani stronghold sits just south of Quel’Thalas, in the Ghostlands, and Blizzard describes the area as eerie and dangerous for anyone heading in to challenge its defenders.

The update says Zul’Aman’s army is growing stronger by the day and is driven by vengeance in Zul’jin’s name. Blizzard asks players to gather allies and head into the Eastern Kingdoms to stop that advance. The studio presents the stronghold as a direct fight against an escalating threat rather than a one-off dungeon run.

No extra tuning notes or reward tables are included in this weekly roundup, but Blizzard is clear that the content is already live. That makes the update one of the week’s most immediate changes for Classic Anniversary players, especially those waiting to enter the stronghold with a group.

Hallow’s End returns with spooky rewards

Blizzard says Hallow’s End is back with “frights, delights, and haunting rewards.” The holiday celebrates the Forsaken’s break from the Scourge, and innkeepers across Azeroth will hand out treats and tricks to players who join in.

The update highlights four additions for this year’s event:

  • Midnight Candy Buckets throughout Quel’Thalas
  • Hallow’s End haunts in your neighborhood
  • New spooky holiday decor from vendors
  • A fresh set of achievements

Blizzard does not go into the full event structure in this post, but it does make clear that the holiday includes both world activity and collectible rewards. The focus is on wandering the world, finding event spots, and earning achievements tied to the seasonal return.

Podcast special and Midnight motion comic

Outside the gameplay updates, Blizzard spotlights a special WoW: Forever Podcast episode called “Dive into the End of Beta Special!” Host Countdown To Classic and guest Meeix will sit down with Senior Game Designer Josh “Aggrend” Greenfield, Associate Production Director Clay Stone, Lead Software Engineer Ana Resendez, and Lead Encounter Designer Michael Nuthals.

Blizzard does not give a release time for the episode in this roundup, but it positions it as a special look at the end of beta and the people behind the project. The update also points readers to the World of Warcraft: Midnight motion comic, “Singularity.”

The comic follows Arator Windrunner as he goes into the Void with help from his mentor, Umbric, while searching for clues about his missing parents. Blizzard says reality twists around him and dark whispers prey on his mind and fears, forcing him to confront the Void without losing himself to it.

Join Arator Windrunner as he ventures into the depths of the Void with the aid of his mentor, Umbric, in search of clues to his missing parents’ fate.

Blizzard credits Yuri Lowenthal as Arator Windrunner, Robert Brooks as writer, Joseph Lacroix on art and cover, Marco Iacoti on colors, and AndWorld Design on letters. The studio presents the comic as part of the wider Midnight push, alongside the week’s other game updates and seasonal offers.

Fall savings and a Rexxar bundle

Blizzard says fall savings run through November 2. The sale includes up to 50% off World of Warcraft: Midnight, discounts for bringing a hero up to speed, up to 30% off select game services, and up to 33% off Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary game services. The promotion applies to both the modern game and the Classic Anniversary side of the franchise.

The weekly roundup also advertises the Champion of the Wilds Pack, available from now through November 8, 2026. Blizzard says the bundle lets players invoke the spirit of Rexxar in modern World of Warcraft, currently Midnight, by taking on his appearance, decorating a home with a trophy of the hunt, and giving Hunter combat pets the look of Misha and Huffer.

In the same update, Blizzard closes by inviting players back next week for more news from Azeroth. This week’s post, though, already covers a wide stretch of the game: a name reservation window, a ruleset overhaul, nine new dungeons, three raids dated for December 9, the live Gods of Zul’Aman update, Hallow’s End rewards, a podcast special, a new motion comic, and two separate discount offers.
