Kyedae used her Twitch return to reject social media claims that her breakup with Valorant star Tyson “TenZ” Van Ngo happened because of cheating. After 18 months away from the platform, she said she had already addressed the “narratives” that continue to follow the split and pushed back on rumors that she influenced TenZ’s decision to step away from pro play.
Kyedae and TenZ confirmed in February that their relationship had ended. At the time, she said they had been “separated for some time” before announcing the breakup and that they had “stopped growing as individuals.” Even after that public statement, speculation continued online, with some users suggesting cheating had been involved. TenZ responded to those accusations then, calling them “disgusting” and “blind hate.”
On stream, Kyedae said she had already done her part in addressing the rumors that keep resurfacing around the breakup. She singled out one of the claims attached to the split: that she somehow got TenZ to quit professional Valorant. Kyedae rejected that version of events and said she had asked him to keep playing for another year.
“No, I did not get him to quit pro play. Guys, do we forget that I asked him to play an extra year and then he won Madrid?”
She also said it had been frustrating to have her name dragged through the mud over something she described as completely mutual. Kyedae added that there was no ill intent between her and TenZ and said she wished him the best. Her comments were framed as a response to persistent speculation, not a new turn in the breakup itself.
Before returning to Twitch, Kyedae also addressed posts on X dated October 19. In those replies, she denied cheating and said the accusation was built around a Reddit post. She said another person had been unfairly removed from the context of the situation, explaining that a best friend who was also on the trip had shared a room with him.
“Me and John did nothing. I didn’t cheat. That was a narrative created by a redditor.”
She later said that TenZ, John and John’s ex, daph, had all denied the claim, and asked what more people needed. Kyedae also said people had made a lot of assumptions about her relationship with TenZ even though only the two of them were involved. She said that some of the private details of that relationship had stayed private out of respect for everyone involved, and that keeping those details out of public view did not make the online narratives true.
Kyedae also pushed back on the idea that she owed people more information. She said she understood why people were curious, but did not believe anyone was entitled to the private details of a relationship just to satisfy that curiosity. Her remarks made clear that she wanted to answer the most persistent rumors while still keeping the personal parts of the split out of public discussion.
Kyedae’s return focused on clearing up old rumors
The stream marked Kyedae’s first appearance on Twitch in 18 months, and much of it centered on the same claims that have followed her and TenZ since the breakup. Rather than presenting new information about the relationship, she used the return to answer the accusations that had built up around it. The main point of her comments was that the split was mutual and that the stories spreading online did not reflect what happened between them.
Her explanation also tied together the different rumors that have circulated since February. One was the cheating allegation, which she rejected directly and which TenZ has already called out as false. Another was the suggestion that she pressured him out of pro play, which she said was the opposite of what happened. In her telling, she wanted him to continue competing for another year and he later won Madrid.
Kyedae’s response on Twitch followed the same line she had taken on X two days earlier. She denied wrongdoing, pointed to denials from other people mentioned in the rumor, and said the accusation had been created and spread without proper context. That left her message consistent across both platforms: the public stories about the breakup were not the same as the private reality she described.
The latest comments also show how much of the conversation around the breakup has shifted away from the relationship itself and toward the online speculation around it. Kyedae did not reopen the details of what ended the partnership. Instead, she addressed the narratives attached to it, repeated that there was no bad blood, and asked for the room to keep the remaining details private.
TenZ, Madrid and the other claim she shut down
Alongside the cheating rumors, Kyedae again addressed the separate claim that she caused TenZ to stop playing Valorant professionally. She dismissed that idea as well and said she had encouraged him to stay in the scene for longer. Her mention of Madrid added a specific marker to that response, since she pointed to the event as proof that her request did not line up with the accusation being made online.
That part of the stream mattered because the rumor had become part of the same online cycle as the cheating claim. By answering both in the same return stream, Kyedae drew a distinction between internet speculation and what she said actually happened. She described the split as mutual, said the outside narratives were inaccurate, and kept the rest of the relationship private.
Kyedae’s comments on Twitch and X did not introduce a new dispute so much as close the loop on rumors that had been circulating for months. She repeated that she and TenZ had already spoken publicly about the breakup, that she had no ill intent toward him, and that the accusations being repeated online did not match her version of events.
18 months off Twitch and the first thing back is shutting down the cheating rumor again… honestly i get why she did it. if people keep recycling the same nonsense, better to say it on stream and move on
yeah, especially since she was pretty clear it was mutual. the Madrid line also stood out – if she was pushing him out, why ask him to play another year?
maybe, but going live can also feed the same clips back into the cycle. once a rumor has traction, people only hear the bit they want anyway
fair, but silence wasnt helping either
Reddit detective season lol
So what happened to Madrid?
