IGN says the rumored Lucia actress spent a 12-minute Instagram livestream talking about her life while fans flooded the chat with Grand Theft Auto 6 questions.

Manni L. Perez, the actress long rumored to be playing Lucia in Grand Theft Auto 6, went viral after a livestream in which she kept steering clear of fan questions about Rockstar’s next game, according to IGN.

The stream drew more than 2,100 viewers at its peak from a six-month-old Instagram account with just nine posts. Over 12 minutes, Perez spent most of the time talking about her life rather than the speculation around her name. She said she grew up in a “small, rural, redneck-y” town, lives in a studio apartment with a dog, likes to cook, and grew up driving trucks.

As the comments filled with references to Lucia and GTA 6, Perez answered only the posts that stayed away from the game. When viewers assumed she was wealthy, she pushed back and described a fairly ordinary routine. “But yeah, no, I’m not rich. I’m a regular person,” she said.

She added that she has “my tiny, little itty-bitty kitchen,” that it is “just me and my dog,” and that she does everything on her own. Perez also said she has “a family that loves me” and that she feels “in a really good place” in her life. Later in the stream, while still avoiding the game questions, she said, “I want a green truck.”

Fans pushed for a Lucia confirmation she never gave

IGN says the chat quickly turned into a test of whether Perez would acknowledge the role fans have linked to her for years. Some viewers asked directly whether she would be in Rockstar’s next game. Others were more playful, suggesting that she did not live alone because Jason was with her, a nod to the character many believe will be Lucia’s partner in crime. A few asked whether she was “ready for next month,” another thinly veiled reference to the game.

Perez did not take the bait. The article says she only responded to comments that were unrelated to GTA 6, even as the stream became more crowded with questions about Lucia. IGN notes that if she really were under a non-disclosure agreement, she would be expected to avoid confirming anything anyway, but the piece sticks to the fact that she gave no direct answer on stream.

The report also says Rockstar Games has refused to confirm most of the cast for the new GTA release, even though fans have spent years trying to identify the actors themselves. Perez has been one of the most discussed names in that speculation, which is why a short Instagram livestream was enough to send the latest round of theories through social media.

That reaction fits a familiar pattern around Grand Theft Auto. IGN points to earlier fan efforts to crack Rockstar’s marketing, including one person who spent three months charting planetary positions to guess when trailer 3 would arrive and another who measured oxygen levels for the same purpose. Both predictions turned out to be wrong, but they show how far fans will go when Rockstar keeps details close.

Why Perez keeps coming up in GTA 6 casting talk

IGN says the rumor around Perez has stuck because of her acting background and a small but direct connection to the franchise. Her credits include single-episode appearances on Jessica Jones, The Blacklist, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. The article also notes that she played a blackjack dealer in Grand Theft Auto Online, which has made her name stand out even more in cast speculation.

That history has kept fans interested even without any official confirmation from Rockstar. The article says theorists have talked about Perez for years, and the livestream simply gave them another chance to watch her dodge the subject in real time. Because her account was small and the stream drew a larger-than-usual audience, the moment spread quickly once clips and reactions started circulating.

IGN also says the discussion around Perez has grown alongside the broader campaign for GTA 6. Rockstar has been revealing pieces of the game slowly, which has encouraged fans to build their own cast lists from trailers, performance clues, and public appearances. The article treats Perez as one of the clearest examples of how far that guessing game has gone, especially when a livestream about her daily life becomes a casting debate within minutes.

What Rockstar has confirmed so far

One name the article says is confirmed is Stephen Root, who said he will appear as drug trafficker Brian Heder. Beyond that, the cast remains mostly unofficial. IGN says fans have long speculated that Modern Family and Grey’s Anatomy actor Dylan Rourke will play Jason, but that role has not been confirmed either.

The only firm date in the story is Grand Theft Auto 6‘s launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19. That means the current wave of casting speculation has a fixed deadline: once the game arrives, the full lineup will be obvious whether Rockstar has named everyone or not.

IGN says the buildup to release is still intensifying in the last few weeks before launch. The article does not say when Rockstar will reveal more cast information, if it does at all, but it does make clear that fans are still trying to identify everyone attached to the game. For now, Perez’s livestream has become the latest piece of evidence in a rumor that has circulated for years, even as she said almost nothing about it.

The article closes by warning fans not to send messages to actors yet, since the cast situation is still incomplete. GTA 6 remains one of the most closely watched releases in games, and Perez’s quiet dodge during a 12-minute Instagram stream was enough to pull the Lucia rumor back into the spotlight just as the November 19 launch approaches.

if she really is Lucia, is it even worth asking her on stream? feels like people just wanted a clip more than an answer. i get the curiosity, but once a cast rumor gets this loud, any direct yes/no turns into a whole thing. would you rather actors just ignore it or straight up deny it until release?

do you think Rockstar saying basically nothing about the cast is helping this or just making people speculate harder? feels like every name gets dragged into the vacuum.

that’s what i thought too, but i wonder if they like the noise a bit. every time they stay quiet, fans build a new cast list from a trailer frame and a lucky guess. maybe for a game this big, letting the mystery breathe is part of the marketing, but it also means people start treating random livestreams like evidence. feels like a mess either way.

the part about her saying she’s not rich and lives in a studio with a dog is kind of funny. i guess people online just assumed she must be some Hollywood money person because of the rumor. do celebs usually bother correcting that stuff on stream?
