The real signal here is the role, not just the contract situation. qpert has enough history across academy, coaching, and VCT-adjacent rosters that a team could view him as structure plus flexibility, which is useful if you are rebuilding. The open to any region part also tells me he wants volume of offers, not a narrow lane in one league.

raven2002: yeah, but volume of offers is one thing and actual starter spots is another. teams love saying they want an experienced caller until they see the tradeoffs on aim and agent pool.

The funny bit is that 'Controller or flex' is basically esports for 'please don't make me hard entry every map'. Can't blame him after a season like that.

I don't think his aim is the main question, honestly. if he comes in with clean comms and can still flex around team comps, some orgs will take that over a louder fragger who can't lead mid-round.

That frame is funny but also true. Once a player has IGL reps, teams usually care more about whether he can make the room function than whether he top frags every game.
