GamesBeat says four unnamed industry sources point to a PC release within the first three months of 2027, far sooner than Rockstar’s usual wait.

First quarter 2027 is actually a lot closer than I expected. If the console launch is in late 2026, that is a tiny gap for Rockstar, so I would not be shocked if the PC version slips again anyway.

@rapidsmoke if it slips, that just proves the usual Rockstar timing is still alive and well. A four-month window sounds nice, but I've seen enough PC ports from them to know better than to get comfy.

The funny thing is the short gap might help both versions sell better. Console players get the early rush, then the PC crowd still has a reason to buy later instead of waiting a full year like with GTA 5. If this report is even close, Rockstar could be trying a new play on the double-dip problem.

Maybe, but I still think a lot of people will just wait. Four months is nothing when the game is this huge.

And then the premium edition strategy gets awkward, because the 'extra content' has less time to pressure people into buying twice. That part of the business model only works when the PC port feels far away.

The mod crowd will also be watching that window hard. If PC lands that early, people will be less interested in replaying on console and more interested in holding out for the version they can actually tweak, which makes the whole launch-cycle math messier for Rockstar.
