    the 18-month delay is the bit i keep coming back to. if the messages were really that bad in early 2024, why are they only a firing issue once GTA 6 pressure is at max?

    Camper51, I think the delay cuts both ways. It could mean they were gathering context, or it could mean they only got serious once the union angle and the leak angle started to overlap.

    and that overlap is exactly why the journalists being named matters. once outside press enters the picture, every Discord post starts looking like a security problem instead of just workplace chatter.

    maybe, but if every chat with a reporter becomes grounds for suspicion then half the industry would be in trouble. that is the bit that feels overcooked to me.
