Aaron Garbut says the studio spent years studying Miami, the Keys and the Everglades to shape Vice City’s return.

Read the full story. What do you think?

The cops and gang members line is the bit that sounds the most Rockstar of all. They never just want the tourist version of a place, they want the stories people don't put on postcards. That said, I hope the end result is more than just shock value. If Leonida feels lived in from the radio chatter down to the road signs, then the research did its job.

i think the road signs and small details are the best part of this story. if they really record everything like that then even random drive will feel different from gta 5.

That is what I am hoping for too, especially if the map is as large as they say. Bigger maps can be a pain if there is nothing between points of interest, but small environmental touches can make the whole thing feel smoother.

The Everglades bit interests me more than the Miami stuff, honestly. Swamps, mangroves and weird low visibility routes are the sort of places that can make a GTA map memorable if they are not just dead space on the edge of the map. Also, hovering above a concert sounds like the kind of accidental headline Rockstar would somehow wear as a badge of honour.

If they pull the Everglades off properly, that could be the best vehicle playground in the whole game. Boats, airboats, off-road stuff, hidden trails – there is a lot they can do there without needing to cram in another city block.
