T1 beat JD Gaming 2-1 to knock out the last Chinese team in Shanghai, finish VCT China’s event at 2 map wins and 16 losses, and advance to a decider against FUT Esports.

VCT China ending on 2 map wins and 16 losses is proper grim. Feels like the region got zero room to settle in, and Shanghai just exposed every shaky buy round and retake.

The map score looks bad, but I think the bigger issue is how often their early advantages vanished. JDG had Lotus on the ropes and then T1's mid-rounding flipped the whole thing, which is usually where international teams separate themselves.

That's why I'm more interested in T1's read on FUT than the China angle. If stax says they prepped against similar styles, then this series was a nice warmup, especially with how clean their Haven B pressure looked once rifles were out.

stax always says they are prepared, so we will see. But yeah, if FUT lets T1 keep hitting one site over and over like JDG did on Haven, it can get ugly fast.

Lotus into Abyss into Haven is such a weird swing in momentum. What stands out to me is how different the same match looked once JDG lost control of the pistol/bonus chains on map three.
