Paper Rex led early on Summit, but T1’s late surge completed a 2-1 comeback and kept the Korean squad alive in Shanghai.

PRX losing Summit after that 9-3 half is brutal, but I don't think it was just a random choke. T1 kept winning the messy rounds and that usually means your mid-round calling is getting outplayed. The pistol sweep sounds nice on paper, but it didn't save PRX once the economy got weird.

"didn't save PRX" is doing a lot of work there. pistols are basically just an extended warm-up if the other team starts farming post-plants like that.

I think the bigger issue was T1's read on PRX's setups once Summit flipped sides. They stopped taking fair duels and just made every retake ugly, which is exactly what you want against a team that likes momentum. The 10-3 comeback looked huge, but it was really several smaller round wins stacking up.

That lines up with the Lotus full eco too. PRX had chances to slow it down there and never really grabbed control back after the eco round went T1's way.

and that's why the head-to-head stuff feels overrated here. if one team is better at converting the ugly rounds, the matchup history stops mattering pretty fast. PRX got their pistol rounds and still lost the parts that decide a playoff series.
