The part that stands out to me is that Blizzard is using the Twitch drop to push the Housing feature, because that makes the reward feel more like a gateway than a standalone cosmetic. Four hours is not crazy, but it is enough to get people into the category without being too obnoxious about it. The extra vendor copies in Silvermoon, Stormwind and Orgrimmar make it less annoying for alts, which is honestly the smartest bit here.

i agree on the vendors, but the 7-day cooldown after relinking is the real awkward part. if someone changed password or cleaned up accounts, they get punished right when they want to do the drop

The naming is what amuses me most. 'Cuddly Gold-Colored Grrgle' sounds like a toy from a BlizzCon booth rather than a housing decoration, which fits the whole cute-but-odd Blizzard style. Lore-wise it is just a decor item, sure, but the fact they call it adorable in the FAQ makes it feel like they know exactly what they are doing.
