Blizzard Entertainment has opened a World of Warcraft Twitch Drop for the Cuddly Gold-Colored Grrgle Housing decor item. The campaign started on October 13 at 10:00 am PDT and runs until November 3 at 10:00 am PST. Players need to watch four hours of eligible World of Warcraft content on Twitch to earn the item, then claim it on Twitch before it is delivered in game.
The drop is tied to the game’s Housing feature, which requires access to World of Warcraft: Midnight. Blizzard says the reward is not available in World of Warcraft Classic games and requires a World of Warcraft subscription or game time. The company also says decor items can only be used and placed within Housing.
How to earn the Grrgle drop
To participate, players must link their Battle.net account by visiting account.battle.net/connections and connecting Twitch from there. Blizzard says that if a player has changed their password or made changes to either account, they will need to relink. When accounts are relinked, there is a seven-day cooldown before a new Twitch account can be linked.
Once the accounts are connected, progress can be earned on any eligible World of Warcraft channel on Twitch. Blizzard says viewers do not need to stay on a single stream for the full four hours. They can watch for a while on one channel, switch to another eligible stream, and keep their progress. Watching more than one channel at the same time does not make the drop go faster.
Players must claim the drop on the channel they are watching or in the Drops Inventory menu on Twitch. Blizzard says it can take up to 24 hours after claiming for the reward to appear in game. The first Battle.net region a player logs into after claiming determines where the item is delivered, so players need to make sure they are signing into the region they want before the reward arrives.
Eligible regions include North America, Latin America, Europe, The Middle East, Africa, Japan, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. Blizzard says the drop can be earned across all of those regions as long as the player meets the account and viewing requirements.
Where to buy more copies
Players who claim the Cuddly Gold-Colored Grrgle through Twitch can also buy additional copies from vendors in three cities. Blizzard says Dennia Silvertongue in Silvermoon City will sell more copies, and additional copies can also be purchased from Tuuran in Stormwind and Gabbi in Orgrimmar near the Trading Post.
The company describes the item as an “adorable” housing decor piece in its FAQ text. The extra-vendor setup means the Twitch Drop is the unlock, while the vendors give players a way to collect more copies after the first one has been claimed. Blizzard does not say anything about a purchase limit in the announcement.
The item name is the same Cuddly Gold-Colored Grrgle Blizzard announced for the October 13 Twitch Drop, and the company’s current post confirms that the reward is live now. The drop window gives players a little under three weeks to finish the four-hour watch requirement, claim the reward on Twitch, and wait for the in-game delivery.
Supported devices and streamer requirements
Blizzard says players can earn and claim drops through a PC or Mac web browser, or through the Twitch app on Android and iOS. Twitch apps on game consoles, smart TVs, and other TV apps do not support drops.
For streamers, Blizzard says the setup is simple: link Twitch and Battle.net accounts and opt into Drops through Drops Streamer Home. The announcement does not add extra streamer-specific conditions beyond that.
Blizzard also reserves the right to change, pause, or cancel the Twitch Drop and its terms if it cannot run as planned for any reason, including technical issues or other unexpected factors beyond its control. That covers the drop itself and the rules attached to it.
The FAQ also answers a few common questions about how progress works. Blizzard says players can earn progress on any eligible channel in the World of Warcraft category, so they are not required to stay with one broadcaster for the entire four hours. The company repeats that rewards are only granted after the drop is claimed on Twitch, either from the live channel or from the Drops Inventory menu.
Blizzard’s notes also spell out what happens if a Battle.net account is not linked. Earned Twitch Drop rewards expire seven days after they are claimed if a Battle.net account has not been linked. That makes the account connection a required step, not just a convenience.
The current campaign sits alongside a busy stretch for World of Warcraft support and updates, but Blizzard’s announcement is focused on the housing decor item itself. The company is using the Twitch Drop to push players into the game’s newer Housing system, while also giving collectors a path to pick up more copies from the named vendors once the first reward is secured.
Players who want the item still need to line up the basics: link Battle.net and Twitch, watch four hours of eligible World of Warcraft streams between October 13 and November 3, claim the drop on Twitch, and log into the correct Battle.net region within the delivery window. Blizzard says the reward should then show up in game within 24 hours.
four hours for a decor item is fine, but the 7-day relink cooldown is a bit of a clown fiesta if you changed passwords recently
yes, this cooldown is bad. they always put one small trap in it
the trap is probably intentional. if they let people relink instantly after every password reset, support would get farmed by
ah yes, the true endgame: watching a stream so i can place a gold goblin in a house i’ll forget exists in a week
i mean, at least this one is not a random loot box dressed as content lol
not really, vendors selling extra copies is still a soft monetisation nudge, just without the actual shop button
cuddly gold-coloured grrgle sounds like a pet that got too much sun
watch 4 hours, claim on twitch, then wait up to 24 hours… very modern gaming experience
the worst part is logging into the wrong region and feeding the item to the void, classic blizzard moment
done that before on a promo mount, logged in eu by mistake and spent the evening wondering where it went. it showed up the next day on the other region
which region should i log into first?
if you mean the safest route, i’d still double-check the region before claiming rather than after. the article says the first login after claim matters, which is a bit backwards for something this simple. if your account hops around a lot, i’d treat that as the real risk, not the stream time
the region where you want the decor. first login after claim decides delivery, so dont wing it
cheers, that’s the bit i was worried about. i usually sit on eu out of habit, but i don’t want the thing ending up somewhere else just because i forgot and logged in the wrong client first
