Blizzard’s October 16 World of Warcraft roundup puts several current and upcoming pieces of the game in one place: Midnight’s 12.1.5 content update is live, Echoes of the Worldcore is on the PTR, WoW: Forever gets a new podcast episode and a Paladin class deep dive, and a fresh Twitch Drop and soundtrack are also in the mix.
Midnight 12.1.5 is live with Kith’ix, Kindo’jan, and a seasonal refresh
The biggest item in the post is Midnight’s 12.1.5 content update, which Blizzard says is now live. The update sends players into a single-boss raid against Kith’ix with flexible Mythic difficulty, then into the Labyrinth of Kindo’jan, a Delve-like gauntlet with nine chambers. Blizzard says the Labyrinth includes a Tier 11 solo challenge, Mythic gear, cosmetics, titles, and more.
Season 2 also gets a mid-season refresh, along with Keystone Mythic. Blizzard says the update begins a new story campaign that returns players to Quel’Thalas and Zul’Aman as the Midnight saga continues. That keeps the patch centered on a mix of raid progression, solo content, seasonal tuning, and story rather than a single mode or reward track.
The roundup does not add new mechanics for Kith’ix or the Labyrinth beyond what Blizzard already shared, but it does confirm the live status of the patch and the range of rewards attached to it. The update is built to touch several types of players at once, from raid groups to solo challenge runners to anyone following the campaign through Midnight.
Echoes of the Worldcore returns players to Dornogal
Blizzard also gave a preview of the next Midnight content update, Echoes of the Worldcore. The company says the update invites players back to Dornogal to unravel how to access the Coreway, and it is currently on the PTR.
In Blizzard’s announcement, the named features are the new story campaign “The Return to Dornogal” and “Tales Take a Dark Turn in Talebound.” The announcement does not list any further details in the main text, but it clearly places the update in testing and sets Dornogal at the center of the next chapter.
That makes Echoes of the Worldcore the next visible step after 12.1.5. Blizzard is signaling a return to one of Midnight’s key hubs while also tying the update to the Coreway, which suggests the story will keep building on the expansion’s larger structure rather than branching off into a separate side plot.
WoW: Forever turns to PvP and Paladin changes
Blizzard also used the weekly post to point players to Episode 4 of the WoW: Forever Podcast. Host Countdown To Classic is joined by Savix and Tips Out for a discussion with Senior Game Designer Josh “Aggrend” Greenfield and Lead Designer Tim Jones, with the episode focused on player-versus-player combat in World of Warcraft: Forever.
Blizzard says the episode offers a closer look at the team’s approach to PvP and what that means for players as they prepare to enter the fray. The podcast is one of the more direct ways Blizzard is talking through the systems side of Forever before launch, with design staff explaining their thinking rather than presenting only patch-style bullet points.
The roundup also includes a World of Warcraft: Forever class deep dive for Paladin. Blizzard says the class updates strengthen the Paladin’s Seals and Judgements while expanding options for Holy healing and spell damage, Protection tanking, and Retribution damage. The post frames Paladin as one of the classes getting a clear identity pass as Forever moves toward launch in November.
The Paladin write-up follows Blizzard’s broader push to show how classes are being adjusted for the new version of the game. Rather than focusing only on a single specialization, the preview covers the class across its healing, tanking, and damage roles, with Seals and Judgements used as the common thread.
Twitch Drop, subscription bonuses, and the soundtrack
Blizzard’s roundup also points to a live Twitch Drop for the Cuddly Gold-Colored Grrgle housing decor item. Players need to watch four hours of eligible World of Warcraft content on any Twitch channel while the drop is active to claim it. The drop began on October 13 at 10:00 am PDT and ends on November 3 at 10:00 am PST.
The company also repeats its 12-month subscription offer, which grants access to World of Warcraft, World of Warcraft: Forever, and WoW Classic progression, currently Mists of Pandaria Classic. Blizzard says players who buy a 6-month or 12-month Special Subscription Offer will receive special bonuses, including several meant for use in World of Warcraft: Forever once it launches in November.
The final featured item is the World of Warcraft: Forever original soundtrack. Blizzard says the music will carry listeners to Zephras Isle, Riverglades, and Mount Hyjal, and it lists the full track order from “Zephras Isle” through “Summit Of Eternity.” The soundtrack is credited to Adam Burgess, Brendon Williams, David Arkenstone, Neal Acree, and Jason Hayes, with Derek Duke listed as music director.
Blizzard closes by inviting players to return each week for more World of Warcraft news, and this week’s roundup keeps that promise focused on live content, PTR planning, class updates, and the lead-up to World of Warcraft: Forever.
single-boss raid called Kith’ix sounds like Blizzard saw everyone ask for shorter raid nights and went ‘fine, one health bar, enjoy’ lol
is the Labyrinth soloable?
sounds like yes on Tier 11 solo challenge
nice, thanks. i missed that part and was wondering if it was only the raid stuff.
depends what you mean by soloable. Blizzard can call it solo content and still tune it like they expect you to have raid hands and perfect uptime. If the Tier 11 reward is real, i would not assume it is relaxed content just because it is not a full group.
returning to Quel’Thalas and Zul’Aman again is good. Midnight should keep using old zones like this, not invent random places every patch.
old zones yes, same quests no
four hours for a Twitch Drop is brutal for a housing decor item. that Grrgle better be insanely ugly-cute for that grind
Seals and Judgements getting stronger on Paladin is the one thing here that sounds actually relevant
or just another buff that looks good and changes nothing in real play
