Riot Games has published League of Legends Patch 26.19, the update that sits just ahead of the game’s Worlds patch and begins a first round of pro-focused changes for Summoner’s Rift. The patch also delays the rollout of Team Voice, while delivering a broad set of champion buffs and nerfs, item adjustments, and more tuning for Classic.
The update matters because Riot is explicitly using it to shape both tournament play and the broader live meta. That means players can expect shifts in top lane power, jungle presence and bot lane damage patterns, along with changes intended to create more room for fringe picks without making the game unstable. It also signals that one of the more anticipated social features in the game will take longer than originally planned.
Worlds prep starts with pro-focused changes
Riot said this patch is the first of its Worlds lead-in balance pass, with a particular focus on champions and systems that could affect the tournament environment. In the developer’s words, the team has identified some fringe picks that might add variety without becoming disruptive, while also trimming “individual meta outliers” and, in Riot’s own aside, “also Nasus.”
The biggest systemic change is a Teleport adjustment aimed at top lane. Riot said the role quest has already succeeded in letting top laners skip Teleport, and the studio wants to increase their map influence through the spell. That means the free Teleport from the top role quest and the upgraded Unleashed Teleport are both getting shorter cooldowns, while the non-top version of Unleashed Teleport is unchanged.
- Top role quest free Teleport cooldown: 420 seconds to 390 seconds
- Top role quest upgraded Unleashed Teleport cooldown: 330-240 seconds to 300-210 seconds
- Non-top Unleashed Teleport cooldown: unchanged
On the item side, World Atlas and Runic Compass are being shifted away from flat health and toward health regeneration. Riot said melee supports have too much power in roaming and all-ins and not enough in sustained laning, so the change is intended to favor them through their naturally higher base regen values.
Team Voice gets delayed
One of the patch’s most notable non-balance updates is a delay to Team Voice. Riot had originally planned to bring the feature to North America and Oceania in Patch 26.20, but now says it is postponing the rollout after extensive testing.
“we’ve made the call to postpone this a bit to make sure we’re hitting the quality bar you deserve for the experience.”
Riot said there is no target patch yet for the feature’s return, but that the team is prioritizing fixes as efficiently as possible because it knows Team Voice is a long-awaited addition. For players, that means the existing pre-made party voice chat remains the basis for now, rather than full team-wide voice arriving on the original schedule.
Champion buffs and nerfs reshape several roles
Patch 26.19 reaches across nearly every role, with Riot clearly trying to lift some fringe or weakened picks while clipping champions that have been too reliable in pro or solo queue. Several changes are tied directly to item and meta shifts, especially the earlier Sundered Sky adjustments and the evolving role quest system.
Among the most important champion changes are boosts for Aatrox, Aphelios, Aurora, Draven, Elise, Fiora, Kha’Zix, Lillia, Lucian, Master Yi, Volibear and others, while Nasus, Nocturne, Poppy, Rumble, Ryze and Vi are taking hits.
- Aatrox: shorter W cooldown and stronger E healing ratio
- Aphelios: broader buffs across Calibrum, Severum, Gravitum, Infernum and Crescendum
- Aurora: higher E damage and longer R duration
- Draven: base attack damage increased
- Elise: stronger passive on-hit magic damage and more attack speed on W
- Fiora: more health growth and stronger ultimate healing
- Kha’Zix: more damage and stronger evolved W and E
- Lillia: more armor and longer sleep on R
- Lucian: weaker passive on-hit but stronger Q damage
- Nasus: lower Q bonus damage
- Nocturne: longer R cooldown
- Rumble: reduced Overheat attack speed but better monster cap
- Ryze: less Q bonus damage and higher mana cost on E
- Vi: lower attack damage and weaker shield
Riot’s note on Lucian shows the balancing act in play. The studio said it had originally added the Vigilance passive to protect bot lane from mid-lane tuning, but now wants to better balance both roles. Meanwhile, Nasus is being toned down because Riot thinks the champion’s early stacking leads to reliable power too quickly, while Vi is losing some durability now that Sundered Sky is in a better spot.
Several other champions are getting tailored adjustments for specific contexts. Master Yi’s Q cooldown refund is being restored after the removal of Duskblade, which Riot says should have minimal impact on Summoner’s Rift but matters in Mayhem and Arena. Volibear’s passive is being tuned up for both AP and fringe AD builds, and Poppy’s jungle clear is being walked back to reduce how much she suppresses counterpicks across the map.
“we think increasing their map influence through that spell … is a fair place to give the role some power.”
Classic keeps growing with more old-school champions
The patch also expands Classic with another “big champion drop,” this time adding four champions and bringing back several old items. Riot highlights Graves as the headline addition, calling attention to his pre-rework form from 2011 to 2015. The set also includes Fizz, Nami and Nautilus, each presented in their original-era kits or a close approximation of them.
Alongside the new champions, Classic is welcoming back Cloak and Dagger, Moonflair Spellblade and Zz’Rot Portal. Riot says this fourth Classic patch also includes bug fixes, balance changes and client quality improvements, including new rune effects when players socket them.
The Classic additions suggest Riot is continuing to treat the mode as a living throwback rather than a one-time novelty. By adding early versions of familiar champions and items, the mode is giving longtime players a chance to revisit older styles of play while also creating a separate balancing space from the modern game.
Patch 26.19 is now set to land with its scheduled cosmetic updates on September 23, 2026, while the broader gameplay changes begin shaping the road toward Worlds and the next phase of the live meta.
“our first round of pro-focused Summoner’s Rift changes are coming up here.”
Teleport changes for top lane again, because apparently walking to lane is illegal now. Riot keeps trying to make every bruiser a side lane teleport machine and then acts shocked when pro play turns into a macro spreadsheet.
The Teleport cooldown cut is the real pro play lever here, not the classic champ fluff. 420 to 390 on the free TP is small on paper, but in coordinated games that is another window for a reset or cross-map move.
Does the Team Voice delay mean they found actual issues, or is this one of those «we need more time» things that turns into another quarter of silence? I get postponing it if the testing was rough, but the wording makes it sound like they are not even confident about the new target patch yet. If it is really that far out, do you think they should have held the whole rollout back from the start instead of planning NA and OCE first?
probably rough enough that they dont want a toxic mosh pit on day one lol. riot says quality bar, but i read that as «the feature exploded in testing»
