World of Warcraft has sharply reduced the Tricky Treat price of Hallow’s End decor in a late-night hotfix, according to Wowhead. The change lands just before Hallow’s End begins this upcoming Monday, and it turns several housing items that had looked expensive into much cheaper purchases.
Before the adjustment, some decorations were priced at 200 Treats and a few at 250. That level of pricing was already drawing attention because Tricky Treats can take a while to collect. With the hotfix in place, the same items now appear at 20, 15 or 25 Treats in the updated listings, bringing the holiday decor cost down by roughly 90% in many cases.
Jack-o’-lantern pieces now cost far less
The most obvious cuts hit the jack-o’-lantern decor tied to the event. The Candlelit Shrieking Jack-o’-Lantern, Candlelit Ogre Jack-o’-Lantern, Filled Candy Bucket, Unlit Shrieking Jack-o’-Lantern and Unlit Ogre Jack-o’-Lantern each fell from 200 Treats to 20 Treats. All of them are listed as placeable indoors or outdoors, sit on the floor, and are marked as medium-sized holiday furnishings with no dye option.
The Horrific Head of the Horseman saw the same reduction, dropping from 200 Treats to 20 Treats. It is a small piece, also placeable indoors or outdoors, and it is listed under World Vendors rather than a specific holiday vendor. The item shares the same holiday theme as the other Hallow’s End decor and now sits much closer to the price of the cheaper pumpkin props.
The vendor data in the source shows Cordula Wolfgang in Founder’s Point and Spew Gutsout in Razorwind Shores for several of the items, including the Candlelit and Unlit pumpkin variants and the Filled Candy Bucket. That gives players two vendor locations to check once the event opens. The items are also tagged as orange holiday decor with +10 House XP, which makes them part of the housing push around the event.
Heartsbane decor was also cut down
The hotfix did not stop with pumpkins. Several Heartsbane-themed furnishings from Battle for Azeroth were also reduced, including Elaborate Heartsbane Ritual Markings, Heartsbane Stone Circle, Heartsbane Banner and Ominous Heartsbane Shrine. Those items were previously listed at 150 or 250 Treats, and the updated prices now show 15, 20 or 25 Treats depending on the piece.
According to the item listings, Elaborate Heartsbane Ritual Markings, Heartsbane Stone Circle, Heartsbane Banner and Ominous Heartsbane Shrine all keep their spooky styling and their Hallow’s End theme. The Ritual Markings are classified as floor accents and large lighting pieces, while the Stone Circle is a medium floor piece and the Banner and Shrine are both larger floor decorations. All of them are placeable indoors and outdoors and grant +10 House XP.
The source also lists Cordula Wolfgang and Spew Gutsout as vendors for these Heartsbane items, again pointing to Founder’s Point and Razorwind Shores as the main vendor zones. The category spread is broad: some of these are miscellaneous furnishings, some are accents, and some are lighting pieces, so the discount affects more than one kind of housing build.
Why the timing matters for collectors
Tricky Treats are a holiday currency, and the original costs would have made it expensive to assemble a full set of decor, especially for anyone hoping to buy duplicates. Wowhead noted that collecting everything, or even multiple copies of the same item, could have run players into thousands of pieces of candy under the earlier pricing.
That pressure is gone now. The new numbers make it much more realistic to mix pumpkin props with Heartsbane pieces and still have Treats left for other Hallow’s End rewards. A player trying to decorate a house for the holiday no longer has to decide between a single high-cost ornament and a broader set of themed furnishings.
The update also arrives before players get access to the event itself. Hallow’s End begins this upcoming Monday, so the hotfix gives everyone a chance to plan their purchases before the holiday currency starts moving. The timing should help housing collectors budget from day one instead of discovering the new prices after they have already spent their Treats elsewhere.
The discount fits into a busy stretch for World of Warcraft updates. Blizzard has been rolling out a series of changes around the Midnight era, including the Midnight 12.1.5 update, which added the Kith’ix raid, the Labyrinth and a new campaign. This Hallow’s End hotfix is smaller in scope, but it directly changes how players approach holiday housing, which makes the adjustment immediately visible in-game.
For anyone targeting the new decor list, the practical shift is simple: the most expensive jack-o’-lanterns and several spooky Heartsbane furnishings now cost a fraction of what they did before the hotfix. The event still starts Monday, but the shopping list is much easier to fill.
90% off right before the event is a bit rude on the early buyers, but i’ll take it. 200 Treats for a pumpkin prop was proper daylight robbery.
i farmed 3 alts for that lol
still too expensive tbh
nah, 20 is fine
for one item maybe
fair enough, we’ll see
which vendor sells them?
