the roguelite layer is the first PUBG spin-off idea in a while that actually sounds like it has its own identity. i just hope they keep the readable gunfight feel and don't drown it in so many weird status effects that every fight becomes a rules check

i think the readable part is the key. if the power-ups are too random, then it is not survival anymore, only slot machine with guns

yeah, and the article makes it sound like they want big choices, not tiny stat bumps. that at least gives it a better chance than a standard battle royale reskin with one gimmick item

big choices, sure. then one match you are a sword guy, next match you are a doll that rides on someone's back like a cursed backpack, and somehow this is supposed to be serious progression lol. i am not even ضد the madness, but if every run turns into a highlight reel, the actual tension can disappear fast. the funniest part is that PUBG, of all games, is now the one trying to be the weird party mode

the problem is balance more than comedy. if sword arms or hacked trucks are strong enough to matter, everyone will tunnel the same broken route, and if they are not, then the whole roguelite layer becomes just flavour
