Respawn Entertainment has announced the Blood Pact Event for Apex Legends, a limited-time takeover that starts on October 13 and runs through November 3. The event sends Kings Canyon into darkness, splits players into Beasts or Demons, and ties its main rewards to Wildcard matches built around round-by-round challenges.
In the event mode, players pledge to one faction, complete challenge goals during the match, and earn their side’s Wild Cards by dealing enough damage or landing enough knocks. Respawn says every round brings a fresh objective, so squads will be chasing faction powers while they play instead of waiting for a separate event currency grind.
Beasts and Demons offer very different playstyles
The Blood Pact setup is built around a clear fork in the road. Players who side with the Beasts get a faster, more aggressive loadout path. Players who side with the Demons get tools that favor staying alive, cycling abilities, and absorbing pressure.
Respawn lists three Beast effects:
- Evasive Maneuvers: bonus movement with melee out
- Fast Draw: faster cells and weapon switching
- Critical Roll: temporary critical hits on reload
The Beast bonuses lean toward close-range movement and quick weapon handling, which should suit squads looking to collapse on opponents in the fog. The movement boost with melee out also suggests a chase-heavy route through the event playlist, especially once visibility drops on the map.
The Demon path is narrower, but its benefits are more direct:
- Speedy Charge: tactical and ultimate charge faster
- Super Cells: cells regenerate all shield health
Those perks point to a more durable playstyle. Faster tactical and ultimate charge gives Demon squads more frequent ability use, while Super Cells turns ordinary cell use into a full shield refill. Respawn describes the Demons as an infernal powerhouse, and the listed bonuses back that up with a sustain-first kit.
Players do not choose these abilities once for the whole event and walk away. They earn the faction Wild Cards by completing the in-match challenges, and the challenge conditions reset from round to round. That makes the mode less about a single opening decision and more about keeping pace with the objectives the playlist throws out during each game.
Fog, haunted props, and Rev Shell Grenades reshape Kings Canyon
The Blood Pact Event takes place on a spooky version of Kings Canyon, and Respawn is using the map itself to carry a lot of the mood. Fog can descend randomly across the arena, hiding squad movement and cutting sightlines. That changes how players approach open ground, since long-range spotting becomes less reliable and ambushes become easier to set up.
Respawn says the studio has also dusted off Rev Shell Grenades for the event, giving squads another way to track down enemies hiding in the dark. The map decorations are equally on theme: haunted buildings, glowing Nessies, haunted Loot Bins, Pumpkin-skinned EVO orbs, and other frights are scattered across the arena.
The event text does not mention a full map rework, but it does make clear that this is more than a cosmetic overlay. Fog, event props, and the return of Rev Shell Grenades all change how squads move through Kings Canyon during the three-week run. If a team wants to chase players through the fog, it will have to deal with the same reduced visibility that makes the mode feel different in the first place.
Respawn also directly links the seasonal mood to the faction theme, telling players to pick a side and spill their enemies’ blood for infernal abilities or beastly powers. The language is dramatic, but the systems behind it are straightforward: complete the round challenge, claim the Wild Card, and keep using the faction perks that fit your squad’s plan.
Blood Pact Store adds Sparrow, Alter, and R-99 items
The event is not limited to gameplay. Respawn is also rolling out a Blood Pact Store with themed cosmetics. Sparrow gets a new Legend Skin and Character Select Animation, and the announcement describes the look as a full 80s werewolf style. Alter is getting a new Legend Skin as well, along with a new R-99 Weapon Skin.
Alongside those individual items, Respawn says the store includes new Beast and Demon Legend Retheme Bundles. Those bundles extend the event’s faction split into the shop, giving players another way to lean into the Beast or Demon side beyond the event playlist itself.
The announcement does not list prices or bundle contents beyond the named items, but it does make clear that the store is part of the wider Blood Pact rollout. That means players who want the event look have both gameplay rewards and cosmetic items tied to the same October 13 launch window.
Patch notes and open issues are included, too
Respawn also used the Blood Pact post to call out a small recent fix and several known issues. The studio says it fixed an issue where some platforms were unable to access updated language packs.
It also listed three open issues being worked on through its public Trello board:
- Entering an Alter portal may drop players in the incorrect location
- Players are able to clip through the ground of some structures on Broken Moon
- Game settings reset on startup for some players
Those notes make the post part event preview and part live-service update. Players get the event date, the new faction powers, the Kings Canyon changes, and a short status check on bugs Respawn says are still under investigation. The studio also says the announcement may change as it listens to community feedback and continues developing live service content.
Respawn closes by saying Blood Pact goes live on October 13 and inviting players to join the forces of darkness when the fog hits Kings Canyon. The event is available in Apex Legends on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through the EA app, Epic, and Steam. Players can also keep up with the game through its official channels and forums, though the event details themselves are centered on Wildcard, the faction powers, and the haunted map treatment. beasts sound way better than demons ngl. faster movement with melee out in a foggy kings canyon is just begging for aping
Demons look stronger for ranked-style fights though. faster tac and ult charge plus full shield from cells is way more value than a little melee speed
you trust your ult that much?
does anyone know if the rev shell grenades are in the main loot pool or only in that event mode?
fog canyon is scary lol
the most interesting part to me is the challenge reset every round. that means it is not just pick one side and ignore the mode, you actually have to keep playing the objectives if you want the faction perks. the random fog on Kings Canyon should make those rounds feel very different too, especially for teams that rely on sightlines. also, super cells is a pretty wild perk if it really tops you back to full shield from a normal cell use
