PUBG MOBILE has rolled out a pumpkin-themed update for Brainrot Royale in Version 4.6, and it is live now in World of Wonder. The patch adds new event gameplay, limited-time rewards, more social interaction and stronger collection progression, while bringing back familiar names like Boneka Ambalabu, Brr Brr Patapim and Ballerina Cappuccina.
The Ghost Ship turns the Boss Room into a moving event
The main seasonal addition is the Ghost Ship, a timed event that alternates with the Boss Room. When it starts, a giant ship rises out of the mist and sails to the centre of the level. From there, it locks onto Brainrots moving along the conveyor belt and fires tracking Ghost Bullets at them.
If a Ghost Bullet hits its target, the Brainrot mutates into a Pumpkin Brainrot, a Version 4.6-limited tier. Players can also get Pumpkin Brainrots by smashing Pumpkin Eggs in the Boss Room. Once they have one, they can take it back to their base or steal it from another player.
The Ghost Ship event also adds updrafts that let players fly up onto the deck. That is where the Pirate Captain’s Shop appears, offering limited items and rewards. To buy them, players need Pirate Coins.
Pirate Coins are a new event currency separate from the regular coins earned in Brainrot Royale. The update awards them through several actions: stealing another player’s Brainrot, smashing eggs in the Boss Room, and purchasing or shooting Brainrots. Rarer and higher-level Brainrots and eggs drop more Pirate Coins, so the best rewards are also the most valuable targets.
New items add disguises, flight and a way to fight back
Version 4.6 also introduces two themed items that fit the update’s pumpkin look. With Pirate Coins, players can buy the Brainrot Wand, which lets them disguise themselves as the new pumpkin-themed Brainrot. The other item is the Magic Broom, which allows players to fly freely around the level and carry another player with them.
The broom does more than move players around the map. It also has a dash attack that can knock down thieves, giving players a way to chase someone who has stolen a Brainrot and try to recover it. That adds another tool to a mode built around stealing, defending and moving collections between players.
Rick Li, Producer of PUBG MOBILE and Deputy General Manager of Quantum Studio, LightSpeed Studios, Tencent Games, said the update was built to add more unpredictability to Brainrot Royale. “With Version 4.6, we wanted to build on the fun and unpredictability of Brainrot Royale while giving players a new culture-inspired experience to jump into,” Li said. “The pumpkin-themed update brings new twists like the Ghost Ship and creates even more unexpected moments between players.”
Star Upgrade gives duplicate Brainrots a new use
Another major addition is the Star Upgrade system, which lets players convert extra Brainrots into higher-star versions. To do it, players use the fusion system and select two Brainrots of the same type and star level. If the fusion succeeds, the Brainrot becomes bigger, generates more Coins per second and turns into a more valuable collectible.
If the fusion fails, the game gives a success-rate bonus for the next attempt. The system can keep scaling a Brainrot up over time until it reaches Meteor tier, which gives players a long-term reason to hang on to duplicates instead of selling everything immediately.
That also makes surplus Brainrots more useful for players who want to build out a stronger collection. Rather than sitting in storage, extra copies can feed into a progression path that increases both size and output.
Players can now interact more directly in Brainrot Royale
Version 4.6 also changes how players interact with one another in-game. When you walk up to another player, you can view their profile card, add them as a friend, exchange popularity gifts or hand over one of your Brainrots. The gifting system lets players send Brainrots straight to another player’s backpack or base, which makes sharing collections faster than moving everything by hand.
Vincent Wang, General Manager and Head of PUBG MOBILE Publishing, Tencent Games, said World of Wonder is meant to keep expanding the ways people experience the game. “World of Wonder gives us the opportunity to keep expanding the ways players can experience PUBG MOBILE, and Brainrot Royale is a great example of that,” Wang said. “As the ecosystem grows, we want to keep giving players new experiences while creating more opportunities for talented creators and studios to bring new ideas to PUBG MOBILE.”
Those additions sit alongside a set of quality of life changes. The backpack now has a capacity limit of 64 Brainrots. Once it is full, players cannot pick up more until they organise their collection or sell lower-value Brainrots to free up space.
The base also gets room to expand. Version 4.6 raises the Rebirth level cap by five additional levels, and each new level unlocks another base slot. That gives players more space for Brainrots and Coin-producing facilities, while also extending progress for anyone who had already reached the previous cap.
Brainrot Royale’s pumpkin-themed update is available now as part of Version 4.6 in World of Wonder. PUBG MOBILE also points players to its official social channels on Facebook, Instagram, X and YouTube, along with World of Wonder channels on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, for updates and creator content.
is the Ghost Ship actually worth chasing, or is it just a coin trap? if the Pumpkin Brainrots drop enough Pirate Coins i might grind it, but i dont want to get farmed on the conveyor
does the 64 backpack cap feel low to anyone else? i know they added star upgrade and rebirth slots but that sounds like storage pain if you keep duplicates
sell the low stars early. with star upgrade and the cap, hoarding everything will just clog your base anyway
Pirate Coins, because of course
at least it is not another battle pass currency
