Roblox is launching The Hollow, a platform-wide Halloween survival event that starts tomorrow, Oct. 22, and runs through Nov. 2. According to the company’s announcement, the event is open to anyone with a Roblox Select or Roblox account ages 9 and older in most regions, and it will feature nine horror games across nine nights.
The event opens at 2 p.m. PT on Oct. 22 inside the Hollow. From there, players will move through a shared survival game that begins in a maze, asks them to search for clues, and brings in a different monster each day for nine days. Roblox says the space becomes more unsettling as the event continues, and the schedule ends with a live finale on Oct. 31.
How The Hollow works
Roblox describes The Hollow as a continuous survival experience built around horror games, one of the most popular genres on the platform. Each day, players entering the hub will find a new maze to navigate while trying to evade monsters and uncover clues. The event’s structure gives it a fixed rhythm: daily challenges, new threats, and a final live event that closes the main run.
The company has announced three of the monsters that will appear during the event:
- The Deer from 99 Nights in the Forest
- Twisted Dandy from Dandy’s World
- The Inspector from Scary Shawarma Kiosk
Roblox says players will also earn exclusive UGC and rewards by completing quests during the event. Those rewards are meant to help players survive another night in the Hollow, and the company says the event’s daily structure will keep changing as the monster rotation advances.
The live finale for all players begins on the morning of Oct. 31. Players can keep collecting rewards until noon PST on Nov. 2, after the finale has started. Roblox also says anyone with an active Plus subscription will be able to keep the event theme beyond the finale.
Plus subscribers get early access and extra cosmetics
Roblox Plus subscribers are getting early access to the hub at noon PT on Oct. 22, two hours before the full event opens. The company says those subscribers will also receive an exclusive profile frame and background, along with an exclusive item launcher that can be used to gift items to other players during the event.
The announcement also says that players will find new and familiar Halloween-themed avatar items for sale on Marketplace for a limited time. That includes the Hollow Horseman, dozens of exclusive avatar items, and new seasonal makeup looks. Roblox ties those items directly to the Halloween event window rather than to a separate promotion.
Creator coverage is built into the event as well. Roblox says creator champions will livestream from inside the Hollow every day, with LimaMosca, KreekCraft, Bundun and SirDapper among the creators helping players uncover clues and survive another day. The company says these livestreams will happen throughout the event rather than only at the finale.
The company’s plan also includes a one-day finale for the full event and a shorter reward window afterward. That means the main play period ends on Oct. 31, but reward collection continues for two more days. Roblox says the setup is meant to give players a daily reason to return while keeping the event tied to Halloween itself.
Halloween content for younger players runs alongside the event
Roblox says The Hollow is aimed at players ages 9 and older, but younger players are getting Halloween content too, both on and off the platform. Through Family Zone, parents can explore Roblox’s safety features and parental controls in a Duck Duck Halloween crossover that has parents and kids hunting for hidden ducks in costumes while learning about online safety.
Two existing Roblox experiences are also getting seasonal content. Adopt Me! is bringing back the Hauntlet minigame with new rewards and pets, while Welcome to Bloxburg will include Halloween minigames such as Pumpkin Panic and Ghost Hunt, with both personal and group rewards.
Roblox Mini Pack is also available at Target as a candy-free Halloween option. Each $20 Mini Pack includes 40 physical coins, and each coin can be redeemed for 50 Robux to spend on avatar items and in-game purchases. Roblox says the packs are meant for trick-or-treaters or Halloween party favors.
The company is positioning The Hollow as a wide Halloween rollout rather than a single in-game event. It combines a daily survival loop, a live finale, creator livestreams, Marketplace items and separate activities for younger players. The timeline is tightly defined: early access at noon PT for Plus subscribers on Oct. 22, the full launch at 2 p.m. PT the same day, the live finale on Oct. 31 and reward collection through Nov. 2.
Earlier GAMER2GO coverage has also tracked Roblox’s broader platform plans, including Creator Showdown in Brazil and the company’s security-focused messaging around its creator economy.
nine nights and daily monsters is sick
plus-only early access again
classic Roblox business model. Even Halloween needs a premium lane now, very spooky indeed.
is the maze worth it?
The Deer from 99 Nights is a nice pick
yes, that one fits halloween well. the Inspector one sounds a bit random to me, but maybe it works in the Hollow theme.
live finale on Oct. 31 is smart
my kids would hate waiting for the finale, they just want the scary bit right away
nights 1-8 will be full of sweat
plus frame is kinda lame
I got the frame stuff in another event and never used it once lol. The item launcher is the only perk here that feels actually useful.
I think the frame is the least interesting part too, but the launcher could get messy fast. In a game with kids and limited-time rewards, gifting tools always turn into either spam or pressure. The cool part is really the daily maze and monster rotation, not the profile cosmetics.
yeah fair, the launcher could get abused quick. still, i’d take useful chaos over another badge no one looks at
