Supercell’s November 2026 Brawl Stars update is led by a major Ranked overhaul, with the developer tightening entry requirements, changing season resets and adding new draft tools, match stats, and post-match options. The release notes, published on November 3, also introduce three new Brawlers — Thunder Frogs, Rey and Ruby — alongside changes to Pro Pass and BSC qualification.

Ranked gets stricter entry and a gentler reset

Supercell says Ranked is getting its “biggest rework yet,” and the first change is a higher bar for entry and for competitive play. Ranked now requires Power 11 Brawlers at every rank, replacing the old Power 9 requirement from Bronze through Diamond. Diamond now asks for 12 Brawlers, up from 9, matching Mythic. To soften the pressure from those new requirements, the number of free maxed Brawlers rises from 3 to 6 each season.

Unlocking Ranked is also moving much later in the player journey. It now opens at 5,000 Trophies instead of 1,000. Players who already had access keep it, and instead receive a Chaos Drop at 5,000 Trophies. Brawl Arena still unlocks at 1,000 Trophies. Supercell also says there will be no Ranked teams at Masters I and above.

  • Power 11 Brawlers required at every rank
  • Diamond now needs 12 Brawlers
  • Free maxed Brawlers per season increased from 3 to 6
  • Ranked unlock moved from 1,000 to 5,000 Trophies
  • Season reset reduced from 6 ranks to 2

Season resets are getting a lighter touch as well. Supercell says monthly seasons remain in place, but the reset now drops players by 2 ranks rather than 6. The boost stays unchanged. Ranked progression is also being adjusted through Elo, with best-of-three results now giving extra rewards for an Epic Win at 2-0 and smaller losses for a Close Match at 1-2. Higher Elo gains in the early and middle ranks should help players rise faster toward their true level, while the highest ranks remain difficult to hold.

Drafting, preparation and match data get a full refresh

The Pick & Ban screen is getting a broad redesign now that Brawl Stars has passed 100 Brawlers. Supercell says the goal is a clearer overview, better draft tools and stronger team communication. The grid layout now shows more Brawlers at once, and each tile displays Gadgets and Star Powers. Filters have been added too, including favorites sorting on or off, class sorting as the default, and Trophy sorting so players can surface their most-played picks. Players with fewer than 30 Brawlers get power level sorting by default.

Draft communication is expanding in several directions. Alongside pick suggestions, players can now make ban suggestions. After banning a Brawler, selecting another one will suggest it as a ban. Teams can also offer to swap pick order early in the Draft phase. Supercell has added quick chat during picks and bans for asking for a needed Brawler class, requesting a counter to an opponent’s pick, calling for a role, or telling the team what position a player plans to take.

The final preparation screen has been rebuilt visually, with a 3D map preview in the background. Players can now change their Skin there as well as their loadout and Brawlers. Quick chat also arrives on this screen, letting teammates share positions or send Pins and callouts to teammates and opponents.

Supercell is also bringing more information to the end of a battle and into the Battle Log. The new stat breakdown covers Ranked, as well as other 5v5, 3v3 and 2v2 modes. It shows total takedowns, defeats, damage, healing, damage received and objective score where relevant, plus Ranked picks and bans. In Ranked best-of-three matches, those stats are split by round.

Other quality-of-life changes include Play Again in Ranked from the battle end screen, with a few exceptions. At Masters and above, the button becomes Queue Again, and it can also be disabled if the rank gap is too large, a player does not have enough Brawlers for the current rank, or the season has ended. Spectators can now stay through a best-of-three without being removed between rounds, following the player into the next game instead of exiting.

Power Match gets snake bans, and Pro Pass changes direction

The Power Match modifier is getting two new options. Snake ban makes teams ban in alternating order, and players can choose which team picks first, with random as the default.

Pro Pass is also changing shape. Supercell says the next Pro Pass season will be shortened to 3 months, after which Pro Pass will be reworked into a monthly pass. To offset the shorter run, the developer is adding extra progression. Purchasing Pro Pass gives 2,000 Pro Pass XP in-game or 4,000 Pro Pass XP through the Supercell Store. Ranked wins now grant 60 Pro Pass XP, capped at 1,200 per week, and Pro Pass owners get double the XP per win and double the weekly cap.

The update also removes BSC qualification through Pro Rank. Supercell says the pathway was an experiment after the last rework, but it was not adding enough value, with very few new players qualifying through it and extra complexity for the system and its messaging. Reaching Pro in Ranked will no longer qualify players for BSC 2027. Instead, players can enter the Challengers Program through the Championship Challenge and compete their way into BSC starting in 2027.

Thunder Frogs, Rey and Ruby join the roster

Three new Brawlers headline the content side of the update. Thunder Frogs are a Legendary Artillery trio made up of Zap, Zee and Volt, who perform as a unit after being given a magical hat by Ziggy. Their main attack, Triangle Trick, has one frog jump to a location and deal area damage, then a second jump triggers electricity between all three in a triangle before they hop back together. Their Super, Frogzilla!, combines them into one big frog that can jump three times, with the third jump dealing the biggest damage. Their gadgets and powers add healing, slow effects and a Hypercharge called Triple the Tricks.

Rey arrives as a king fighting alongside his queen, Ruby. His Power Couple trait heals Ruby for 800 Health with his main attack, while also making him move 10% faster toward her. Rey’s Marked for Greatness attack builds a meter that increases his damage as it fills, and Endgame lets him aim for up to 3 seconds, gain a 30% shield and mark enemies before firing at each visible target in range. His kit also includes Queen’s Gambit, Rey Lopez, Clock Management, En Passant and the Hypercharge Winning Position, which reveals invisible enemies and applies hyper marks.

Ruby, the Queen of Toyland, is a Mythic Damage Dealer with her own Power Couple trait that heals Rey for 400 Health and speeds her 10% faster toward him. Her Draw Two attack throws a Club and Diamond in a figure-eight pattern, with extra damage if both hit together. Royal Flush creates an area for 4 seconds that grounds enemies while swirling shots deal 15% max health damage. Her kit includes Shuffle and Cut, Stack the Deck, Lucky Number, Double or Nothing, and the Hypercharge All In!, which grows her Super and makes enemies hit by the shots explode with more shots. Her Mastery Title is The House Always Wins.

Supercell also details a pair of new cosmetics and effects tied to Ruby and Rey, including Cosmo with a hyper projectile that homes in and roots a target for 2 seconds, and Vince with a Super that is always at max power and releases Hypercharged caterpillars around him. The update notes also include fresh changes for Mr. P and Lou, with both Brawlers receiving reworks to their gadgets, Star Powers and Hypercharges.

The November update lands as Brawl Stars continues to push its competitive systems further into ranked-focused play, while also widening the amount of information players can see before, during and after each match.

not really, it should cut out fresh accounts jumping into ranked with half-built rosters. the 6 free maxed brawlers helps too, so it’s less messy than before

solo masters was already a coinflip half the time, this at least makes it less abusable. teams can still queue lower down if they want

i get the frustration, but the old 6-rank drop was the only thing that made monthly resets feel like a reset. two ranks means ladder inflation just keeps creeping, and then Masters turns into the new old Diamond where everyone thinks they belong there. if they also boost early Elo gains like the notes say, that might soften it, but it still sounds like they’re making ranked less ranked. neat for casuals, maybe not great for actual ladder integrity

stats are useful, but only if the battle log keeps the round split clean in best-of-three. if it turns into a wall of noise, nobody will use it past day one

yeah that is my worry too, but at least this sounds better than the old end screen with zero context. round split matters because one good first game can look ugly if the next two get stomped, and vice versa. if they show picks and bans beside the damage and healing, it should be enough for people to spot whether a draft was doomed or if someone actually threw
